Hiring one (1) Permanent Part-time Associate

The heart of Rewriting Your Narrative is to allow clients' to achieve their wellness goals through psychotherapy in a safe, supportive, empathetic, and culturally responsive environment. Counselling and psychotherapy services are designed to enhance wellbeing in the adults, children, couples and families we serve for their personal, relational, and overall mental health needs. At Rewriting Your Narrative, we strive to deliver services to a broad scope of clinical concerns within a small town/rural setting. 

Your opportunity:

Rewriting Your Narrative is looking for a highly motivated and skilled part time associate to provide counselling services using an evidence based, culturally competent, trauma informed approach to our clients. The successful incumbent is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in team-based and individual work habits. Our client’s value goal setting, psycho-education, mental wellbeing, autonomy, tools and strategies, and work-life balance. At Rewriting Your Narrative, we foster safety, understanding and collaboration and provide this through individual, couples and child/family counselling. Our staff provides interventions through evidence-based methods of psychotherapy models (CBT, DBT, EFT, Mindfulness, Solution focused brief therapy)

What is Required of the applicant:

THE SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT'S  RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
  • Providing clinical counselling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and families and make referrals to appropriate resources (if needed)
  • Assessing the mental health needs of clients and having the acuity to work within clinical competency/scope of practice 
  • Possess sound clinical judgment and professionalism at all times
  • Determining the appropriate level of clinical intervention needed based on client needs throughout the therapeutic process
  • Developing unique treatment plans per each client served using appropriate/relevant therapeutic interventions
  • Expectations within the practice: offer complimentary consultations with new clients, complete case notes at the end of each client session, manage clinical case load independently, adhere to practice procedures and guidelines
  • Minimum requirement of 15 hours per week. Weekly hourly allotment must satisfy: at least one evening per week, Friday, and at least one Saturday or Sunday shift per month

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in counselling psychology or social work and/or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Must be in good standing with a professional regulatory college.
  • Must possess Professional Liability Insurance in accordance with CRPO standards of a minimum of no less than $1,000,000 coverage per occurrence; and annual aggregate coverage of no less than $5,000,000
  • Valid vulnerable persons screening check within one (1) year
  • Minimum two years of related experience, in a Mental Health Setting, performing client intakes/assessments, individual counselling (and not limited to) family, group, or couples counselling
  • At least one year of private practice experience specializing in mental health with either a focus on psychotherapy or counselling
  • Confidence in working independently within a private practice setting
  • Extensive experience with treating mental health/psychological/relational concerns through psychotherapy
  • Experience in delivering couples counselling is considered an asset
  • Experience in working with children (either 0-6 or 6+) is considered an asset
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and competency in maintaining confidentiality of client information according to FIPPA and PHIPA legislation
  • Respond to new client inquiries in a timely manner and provide an overall excellent level of customer service representative of the standards of Rewriting Your Narrative
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and referrals
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to clients in ways that builds therapeutic relationships and trust
  • Able to work in a rural community with individuals from varied cultural backgrounds, a variety of age groups, presenting with a range of mental health and personal concerns
  • Ability to manage crisis situations independently, to have sound clinical judgment, sensitivity to population differences, ethical decision making, and to be flexible when needed

Notes about the position: Experience and qualifications will determine pay scale. The successful incumbent will be classified as an independent contractor. The independent contractor will be paid as a per client basis.
